risks of updating jellyfin serveur QNAP ? - Rincevan - 2024-05-15 Hi every body. First of all, when i found Jellyfin, i did not know anything about it. I just wanted to make a media serveur with a Qnap TVS h874. I did not know that the best way was to use docker. So, in first place i have installed this version of jellyfin: https://github.com/pdulvp/jellyfin-qnap. the version is 10.8.9.1. Now i have tons of metadata. Is there a risk to update to 10.9.1 ? Does the risk worth the update? Thank you very much!!! RE: risks of updating jellyfin serveur QNAP ? - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-15 There is always risk, which is why we always tell users to backup their Jellyfin data before upgrades. Even minor upgrades. You cannot downgrade back to 10.8.X after an upgrade to 10.9, necessitating a backup if you wish to downgrade. RE: risks of updating jellyfin serveur QNAP ? - Rincevan - 2024-05-15 Thanks for your answer What is the easy way to backup Jellyfin? RE: risks of updating jellyfin serveur QNAP ? - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-15 I am not familiar with QNAP nor where the version of Jellyfin you installed stores it files. RE: risks of updating jellyfin serveur QNAP ? - Rincevan - 2024-05-17 Hello TheDreadPirate. I manage an acces to the root with winSCP. What are the essential folders you have to backup for metadata. Is there any other folders or files important to back up ? Thank you. RE: risks of updating jellyfin serveur QNAP ? - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-17 For container based deployments, only the /config folder needs to be backed up. I was working with another user with a QNAP NAS and the /config folder was located in something like ".qpkg/jellyfin/config". Doesn't mean much to me, hopefully that is enough for you to figure out where to actually find that folder. RE: risks of updating jellyfin serveur QNAP ? - Rincevan - 2024-05-18 thanks. May i copy frome the old version the folders "cache" and "database" in the new version to keep my librarys and plugins RE: risks of updating jellyfin serveur QNAP ? - ffm777 - 2024-06-08 (2024-05-17, 05:33 PM)Rincevan Wrote: Hello TheDreadPirate. Hi, could you please explain how you managed to get access to the filesystem of the Jellyfin app on QNAP? Thank you! Edit: Found out myself how to do it. Sorry!
