Getting into my first home server - Mabawho - 2024-05-15 I am looking for some assistance in an affordable budget pc if possible. Looking to run Jellyfin for my household of 4 people and have been trying to find a budget pc that can house 2-4 3.5in HDDs. Any build Recommendations would be appreciated as I am very new to this, but built my own pc so I can get parts individually and order aswell. Ive looked for some recommended builds on pcpartpicker, but most of them have the parts as out of stock and or really expensive. Ive also seen the HP Prodesk Elite minis which are definitely affordable, but only support 1 SSD from what I saw? RE: Getting into my first home server - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-15 What is your budget? And do you want to build a PC yourself or not? Did the pcpartpicker lists you looked at have Nvidia GPUs or something? I'm assuming that was the big ticket item, which can be substituted with an Intel Arc GPU. Those can be had for very cheap. RE: Getting into my first home server - emeraldgirl08 - 2024-05-15 I have an HP Elitedesk G3 800 Mini as a Jellyfin/Plex server. It has both an internal 2.5" HDD/SSD bay and NVMe slot. I do have an 8tb external HDD attached to it as well. It serves the family fine. We're pretty low resource users watching a max of 1080p and lower res films & tv shows. I use JF currently as a music server and Plex as a movie/tvshows/audiobook server. Paid about $160ish for the complete setup. |
