troubleshooting since 10.9 update - dalec76 - 2024-05-17

currently running jellyfin app on truenas scale (jellyfin version 10.9.1) and since the update my prerolls plugin has stopped working, and the scheduled task i have set up to scan my prerolls folder keeps failing. i do realize that it was forked with the update, however everything i have found for help is for either windows or ubuntu and i've yet to find any help with setting it up or fixing the issue in truenas. can anyone help me?

The question is not very clear to me what part you exactly need help with. Please try to scope your question.

Yes you can get some help. What exactly do you need help with?

I think it would be better to seek help from the pre roll plugin dev. Its possible they havent updated their plugin to the current version of jellyfin. Bug reports should go to them.

i would do that if i even knew how to do that, i've never had to send a github bug report before

A good first step is to provide logs on where it is going wrong. But like @Mel_Gibson_Real also mentioned, if this is a problem with a third party plugin, you should report the issue to the developer of said plugin.

i don't even know where to find logs, let alone how i would post them here. i have YET to have any issues with jellyfin until the update

Is it this plugin? https://github.com/dkanada/jellyfin-plugin-intros/issues

You can create a bug report on there then. As they are the maintainers of this plugin they are much more capable of assisting you ; )

But provide them with a clear error and problem you are facing, including logs and reproduction steps. That makes it easier for developers to fix an issue.

Agreed on submitting a github issue. THe fact that the plugin fails immediately after running the scheduled job is 100% due to the plugin not being updated for 10.9.
