Error in Samsung TV Browser after upgrading to 10.9.x - jellyfinvm - 2024-05-19 Hi, I've been running Jellyfin 10.8.13 in a docker and everything worked fine on my 2018 Samsung smart TV web browser. After upgrading to 10.9.1 (and then to 10.9.2) I am unable to use the Samsung tv browser, when going to the jellyfin homepage I get an error (see attached). It works fine on any other browser I've tried (on PC and mobile) and works fine on the android apps. Everything is running locally in my Lan and not exposed to the internet. Any ideas? Thank you. RE: Error in Samsung TV Browser after upgrading to 10.9.x - TheDreadPirate - 2024-05-19 It's possible that the browser in your TV is too out of date. I'm assuming your TV is running Tizen. Have you considered installing our Tizen app? It currently requires sideloading it. But we are working on getting it in the Samsung app store. https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-tizen RE: Error in Samsung TV Browser after upgrading to 10.9.x - jellyfinvm - 2024-05-19 Correct, it runs Tizen and is relatively old, but version 10.8.13 works without a problem. I'm not comfortable side loading on the TV, but I hope you'll manage getting it to the store. btw, I saw this: https://github.com/jeppevinkel/jellyfin-tizen-builds/issues/36 - so it seems to be a problem on the app as well (on old Samsung TVs) Thanks. RE: Error in Samsung TV Browser after upgrading to 10.9.x - jellyfinvm - 2024-06-02 Since it doesn't seem like jellyfin would fix this issue for older Samsung TVs (and until the tizen version is on the Samsung store), I was thinking for running a second instance of jellyfin just for the TV, so I won't be stuck with an old version for the other clients. Is it possible to have both jellyfin servers use the same metadata folder and only have separate config folders for the DB? (my media folder is on a NAS and it shared and read only) - I just rather not duplicate the metadata folder as it is pretty large. Since the metadata is under config. I'm not sure how I can I do that (I am running jellyfin on docker) (I don't mind if the watched/continue watching won't be in sync) Is this workaround going to work? and how do I do re-use only the metadata folder? Thanks. RE: Error in Samsung TV Browser after upgrading to 10.9.x - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-02 You cannot reuse the metadata folder without also pulling in the database. Which you can't do since it has been upgraded to 10.9. Even if you had a backup, the metadata paths are absolute, IIRC, so running everything in an alternate directory wouldn't work regardless. So Jellyfin will need to redownload/regenerate all the metadata. |
