logging on - sailor842 - 2024-05-22

when I try to log in I get this message "invalid user name or password". I did find the page showing user ID & password & they are correct.
As I mentioned above, I can get to movies in jellyfin on my tv I just cannot access anything on my computer.

This has probably been answered elsewhere but I can't find the post.

What page did you find with the user ID and password?

RE: logging on - sailor842 - 2024-05-22

I clicked on the pen icon beneath the lastpass icon.

now that I think about it more, that info is probably LastPass info & not JellyFin's

Do you log into multiple jellyfin servers? Are you using the correct credentials for the correct server?

If your saved credentials don't work you'd have to initiate a password reset.

RE: logging on - sailor842 - 2024-05-22

I am only on one server. And I have (multiple times) tried a password reset. the PSD sent is what I get.

After I re-enter my user name I get this message
Where is my " home network"? I don't see it on my router (ARRIS Surfboard) & my computer is connected via LAN.

I don't have photoshop. I can't open PSDs.

What are you typing into your browser?

http://192.168.#.#:8096 ?

Is your server running?

Did you change your password recently?

You can try to re-enable the startup wizard and recreate your account.

Stop your jellyfin server. Open file explorer and go to C:\ProgramData\Jellyfin\Server\config\ and open system.xml

Near the top will be a line called "<IsStartupWizardCompleted>" and it should currently be true. Switch it to "false", save. Now start jellyfin. Go to your jellyfin server in your browser and it should walk you through the initial setup process including creating the admin account.

RE: logging on - sailor842 - 2024-05-22

I had put JellyFin on my E  drive. I then accidentally formatted it (Damn). But as I had a backup for that drive I got most of my info back.
But, my JellyFin download was on an incremental back up.
Once you gave me the basic path I was able to find the folder.
It is now being restorred to it's proper location. I don't know how long that'll take but I'll update this post in the morning (west coast time)
