10.9.x Ubuntu LTS - enesha - 2024-06-01

Good Afternoon All Smiling-face First let me say a big thank you to all of you developers and helpers out there. I use the server every single day and am eternally grateful you free'd me from those Plex a*holes.

That being said....10.9 has been a slow roll downhill to uselessness. Worse with every version.

So it started out that certain files no longer played. Ok just a break in my stride...figured a spec tightened up and just re-encoded the files. (This was a Roku TV) Not really here about that.

So next was the web interface. So It was a little slower, but it's worth 100x what I paid so I deal ya know? However the interface started being weird. Lots of blank space. (my fault maybe? Pics of pramface landing page attached). then the dashboard shit the bed. Almost the entire screen was blank and stuff was off the screen on the right. if I extend the window beyond the screen I can start to see some options.

Then I added an episode yesterday of a show. Watched the episode, was happy. Went to show/season today and that episode was missing. File still existed in directory. Double chekcked permissions of 777 or rw all. Triggered scan. Nada on both.

ok so weird, but cool. Now I have another problem. Looking at the log, it has decided that certain episodes of certain shows needed removed. A highlighted case is LetterKenny Degen. Screenshot attached.

(Maybe it's a bad plugin im using. yes I forgot to disable before upgrade as well, so maybe it's a my bad) There are dozens of such entries in the log - many duplicated. Included in the txt file I uploaded.

So Finally it appears I have a sql problem. It's complaining that there is a locked table. I have made no changes to anything there. That is included in the attached log snippet.

So I guess this is where I am.....That's a lot of annoyances. Is it a me thing. or a in the wild problem? Is it worth it to work on. or a raze to the ground and rebuild on the ruins? I've been looking for a reason to move from ubuntu to centos for the server lol I'd want to keep my watched episode data tho...*shrugs*

Any suggestions are extremely apprecitedSmiling-face

multiple media drives - no raid or anything fun
Browsers for web interface

Can you share your full log via pastebin?

You can try a couple things. You can change the number of library scan and image encoding tasks in Dashboard > General. Setting both to 1 has helped some people with this issue.

You can do the same for trick play generation if that is running. Dashboard > Playback Trick play > Set ffmpeg threads to 1.

I did change two things from settings from 0 to 1 in case that made a difference. Honestly with the ui like that I cam only get some of the info on screen so it was a crapshoot lol

You probably need to remove your theme/custom CSS. Make sure the person that made it updated it for 10.9.

HRM.. Interesting you would say that. I saw some css bit somewhere and wondered at that. Don't even remember adding a theme but it's within probability. I'll check that again in a bit.

As for pastebin..a that's stupid and b I bet it's because they didn't like my post. They wouldn't let me go public with it cause it had naughty words I guess. I know I saw SpongeBob gets naked so maybe it over reacted lol. I'll get back to you in a bit

Oh yeah you were absolutely right about the theme. There ws code in there loading a remote css every time. I'm sure I did it. but really don't remember it. Whatever that was that problem so that is fixed. Let me try this:

And see if you can get the log file. While the web interface is working again, there is still the matter or the locked table business. And there was a file I added yesterday s05e09 of a show, and I watched it. Today I added e10. Neither one presently shows up under the show. Interface generally comes up and will; be trying to roku in a few and see if it at least will stream known content.

This keeps happening on each reboot. Are those mounts on a remote server? Are they not mounting before reboots? Or unmounting for other reasons.

Go to Dashboard > General, go to the bottom and change the max library scan and image threads to 1. Also go to Dashboard > playback > trickplay and change the max ffmpeg threads to 1.

Ok so for clarification each /mnt/Main Server* is a separate physical drive. All dives have the same hierarchy but not all folders have content at this moment. Just when I created a library I made dirs for it on every drive for when I capriciously choose where to send new content Smiling-face. So I just assumed those listed folders have no content ATM.

I changed the first two settings from 0 to 1. In the other menu ffmpeg was 1. Interesting that at the top of trickplay hardware decoding is not checked

I suspect some of the lives for missing content are due to a plugin that I never dealt with. Maybe one making collections....

Btw it is working to watch and steam to Roku right now so it's accessing the db just not making commits?

The log you provided doesn't appear to have any playback related logs in it (searched for keywords from playback log messages).

Can you make a list of your issues and which ones we are still dealing with?
