Kodi Library not Behaving like a library - docsuess84 - 2024-06-03

I’m not sure if this an incorrect setting by me in Kodi itself or on the configurations for the server. I thought I followed directions exactly as written, and the first time I set it up, it did what I thought it would, which was behave like regular Kodi where TV shows reveals your library of shows and movies reveals your list of movies. Now it’s behaving the way it does when you haven’t actually added a source and you have to navigate it through a file manager. I’m not sure what changed and if I changed it or it was the result of an update or something. Any insights and is this happening to anyone else?

It sounds like you (or a scheduled task) ran the "clean library" option. This is incompatible with the way jellyfin-kodi works and will erase all of our entries out of the database. You'll likely need to go to addons -> jellyfin -> repair libraries and resync them to make things work properly again.

So I did the library repair thing, but nothing changed. Tried restarting the add-on, ect. Any other suggestions?

Edit: Thus far, I have one adult profile on one device where the interface behaves like it’s supposed to (TV Shows goes directly to my list of TV shows and Movies directly to my movies.) The kid profile on the same device and both adult and kid profiles on the other device show a list with genres, titles, years, ect. You have to click the top of the menu which backs out to a list consisting of Jellyfin icons for Favorite Movies, Kid Movies, Favorite Shows, Favorite Episodes, and then Kodi items of Movies, TV Shows, Files. The native library function still doesn’t seem to work. You can access and play media by clicking through several layers of menu items but it’s not behaving like a native Kodi library, and I’m still not sure why it functions properly on one profile but not the others and what was different, other than the fact that was the first profile I set up and connected to the server.

You have a master lock password on your Kodi profiles, don't you?
