One season in certain shows becomes "the entire series" - TH35 - 2024-06-04 I am on 10.9.4, though I don't know if this started with that version. I recently noticed that one of my shows had one of its seasons go "weird". Season 5 of show, in its metadata, has the path for the top level show folder (/media/tv/show/) whereas all of the other seasons have a proper season path (/media/tv/show/season 1) - the top level show path gets a season.nfo file for the (in this case 5th) season, and in Jellyfin, Season 5 includes every episode of the show (which are also present in the other season folders). When I did a "scan" of my library to search for updated files to see if this glitch would scan away, it seems like it scanned several other shows and introduced this problem. Library scans are also taking longer than they usually do. RE: One season in certain shows becomes "the entire series" - paulc - 2024-06-04 Would that be Friends, by any chance? Because it is doing it to me, only putting Season 5 in Specials. RE: One season in certain shows becomes "the entire series" - Rubén Navarro López - 2024-06-04 Hey! I'm suffering the same issue with others shows and animes. For me Friends its fine, so doesn't seem to be the same for everyone in this case. I have another post open for this and I'm trying different things. For example, I am moving every single show/anime of the scanned folders that is suffering this problem and deleting all the .nfo inside of them. In that moment, the scan is taking a normal time. Next, I add one, and scan, but doesn't fix anything and takes forever. I have suspects that it could be the IMDB or TVDB plugin. Hope they find a solution quick... ![]() RE: One season in certain shows becomes "the entire series" - Efficient_Good_5784 - 2024-06-04 Are the season folders named anything else other than "Season ##"? It could be this issue: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/issues/11916 I would wait for the next release to see if your issue is fixed then. RE: One season in certain shows becomes "the entire series" - Rubén Navarro López - 2024-06-04 And can we downgrade to 10.9.3? NVM, naming the folder of the season like "Season # #", make it work again. I'll update this post when it finish. Thank you!!! RE: One season in certain shows becomes "the entire series" - Rubén Navarro López - 2024-06-04 UPDATE: my anime is now scanning very quick, renaming all with season 0 (not ova's), season 1... tv shows doesn't scan that quick, but at least seems to be a little quicker, and seasons are now correct.` My media is divided like this: Movies TV Shows Mixed folder between Movies and Shows for Anime (with another library just for movies and other for shows, like I say in this post: https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-how-to-have-mix-movies-shows-in-one-folder) and other stuff that is not being compromised. Could this be a problem just for libraries that are specifically for TV shows? RE: One season in certain shows becomes "the entire series" - TH35 - 2024-06-04 It's not Friends, and no, the folder naming in them is not strictly "Season XX" (in one case, it's "Showtitle - Season XX"; in another case it's "Season XX (AI Upscale)") - but it has been like this for my library's entire history and has never been a problem (i.e. it has always understood those names correctly and I have not needed manual intervention), and it is the same as all of the other folders in those shows, yet only one becomes an issue. I don't actually mind renaming at least some of the seasons (e.g. to get rid of "Showtitle"), but in some cases (such as having the seasons marked "(AI Upscale)"), I would really rather not have to remove those labels just to get Jellyfin to work right. I can confirm that retitling the folders for one of the series where I didn't mind doing so seems to have fixed the issue, though running "scan files" on that series only still took quite a long time. You'll then be able to continue naming the folders like you are now. There were recent changes to how Jellyfin handles metadata in v10.9, and this is one of the bugs that slipped by. For anyone else reading, I can confirm that I have downgraded to 10.9.3 for the time being and done a refresh on an affected series, and it resolved the issue for now. |
