Updated to 10.9.3 and now can't find Jellyfin as a UPNP service - merulius - 2024-06-05

I have Jellyfin 10.9.3 running happily on Ubuntu on my home network, which is over Ubiqiti routers and switches. My Iphone has an app for a NAIM Muso speaker and I use(d) it to select music from the Jellyfin service. Jellyfin is presented on the app as a music server.

Now I can't see Jellyfin as a service on the app.

I installed the DNLA plugin and I think that is running (according to Systemctl status).

Jellyfin web is working fine and I can access that in the home network on port 8096. Although the Muso and a Sonos are not availble on the pull-down speaker option (suggesting that upnp/dnla is not working on the server?).

Can anyone suggest how to either get my app to see Jellyfin (it assumes upnp) or find another way to route my music to the Muso?

Thanks in advance.

Update.

Now upgraded to 10.9.4

No change.

DNLA is running. Checked plug-in status on Jellyfin web.

Did anything change on the server firewall? UDP port 1900 and 7359 needs to be open.

Yes. output from UFW

1900 ALLOW Anywhere
7359 ALLOW Anywhere

And UFW is enabled? Adding rules without enabling UFW doesn't apply the rules.

Are all your devices on the same subnet? DLNA and service discovery only work on the originating server's subnet.

I've just watched a youtube video from Techhut in which they reboot the server after installing plug-ins. Is this needed?

No. You just need to restart the Jellyfin service.

Thanks. Yeah, that what I did.

I've been looking for some defect in the network setup, but can't find anything. Unifi says that UpNp is ON.

The problem showed up after the upgrade to 10.9.3 when DNLA went to a plugin.

Yes, on the same subnet (there's only one, Default).

UFW unchanged in months, but yes, enabled.

I restarted ufw just to be sure. No change.

Does unifi need any routing tables, or does DNLA/UPNP handle it all?

Read this thread on github. It sounds like there is a bug and the workaround is to go to Dashboard > Networking and specify a bind address.
