Jellyfin Playlist, Path, Multiuser - pixel24 - 2024-06-09 Hi everyone, Maybe I just don't understand the concept, but does it really make sense to store the playlists of all users in the same directory (/var/lib/jellyfin/data/playlists)? What happens if multiple users use the same name for their playlists? Wouldn't it be better to divide them into /var/lib/jellyfin/data/playlists/$USER/? with best RE: Jellyfin Playlist, Path, Multiuser - mildlyjelly - 2024-06-10 It would probably make more sense to have the user in the path somewhere... As it is now, it looks like it just adds a number to the end of the folder name if multiple users create a playlist with the same name. For example, if 2 users create a playlist called "WatchMe", you get this:
It seems like more work to implement it this way, but it does work... What annoys me more is:
I also personally don't like how playlists work for TV series (I think it is fine music, books, and movies). When you add a series, it adds all of the episodes to the list. I can see how this would be helpful in some cases, but I would much rather have the ability to add a TV series as a "collection" or something, so it would behave more like a "Watch List" on other streaming services. RE: Jellyfin Playlist, Path, Multiuser - pixel24 - 2024-06-10 Yes, the handling of playlists in Jellyfin is not yet optimal. I think and hope that this will be improved in the future. |
