Sorting media - tekutraicer - 2024-06-09

Hi guys.
I am new to Jellyfin. Previously i used Windows Media Player as DLNA server and watched movies\anime etc on my tv using it's default app for this. All my media is allready sorted on my server. Previously it was gaming win10 pc but now it is standalone server with VM Windows server 2022 running under Proxmox. I couldn't run DLNA with Windows Media Player on Windows server OS so i came here. I have 2 troubles right now:
1) after switching on my tv i have to wait for some time before Jellyfin DLNA server would appear on tv
2) all my media are mixed

As for the first one i don't know what to do, the second - is there a way to see all my media as it is stored on my hdd or it should be better to make what?

Also i added Anime forlder as Shows - i got all my animes without sorting at all. All the files in one heap.

Structure on drive looks like and i would like to choose file moving in this structure.

One of the compromises that need to be made IF you want Jellyfin to automatically sort your media and give proper metadata, is that you need to follow the Jellyfin naming guide.

So for anime, take an look at the Shows documentation: https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/server/media/shows

You can keep your old structure, but you'll have to manually edit the metadata of each entry to get it sorted how you want it.

The most important thing is that the library gets linked to the "Anime" folder from your structure since Jellyfin expects the first-most subfolders to be shows.

Thanks a lot. I tried to edit metadata manually and i got it all correct. Also i found a way to fix a heap of one anime title. It was Anime -> Title -> [S1] & [S2] folders. This structure was incorrect - when i opened title i've got both seasons listed as one season with series one by one.
So i made it like Anime -> Title (S1) -> list of episodes
                                       ->Title (S2) -> list of episodes
And yes i've seen that guide for anime but it wasn't work until i put second season to the root dir of Anime folder.
I tried to show on pic how it was and now Smiling-face

Oooh, i see. I read guid again while i was writing the text above and i noticed one "NOTE" "Season folders shouldn't contain the series name, otherwise Jellyfin can in certain cases (Stargate SG-1 due to the dash and one, for instance) misdetect your episodes and put them all under the same season."
I have no more questions right now.
Thanks!
