HDR not always initiated - christiaanvdlaken - 2024-06-13 Hello, I have a strange situation. I have this 4k DV HDR10 movie that I played. It didn't seems very crisp and also didnt initiate the HDR10 functionality to my surprise so I decided to check out Stremio to see if other files were any better. I happened to see the exact same file so I started it up to see if I could notice any difference. Through stremio it does initiate the HDR and the same file looks much crisper and also the colors seems better. I have transcoding enabled Any idea how this is possible? is it my tv or my server or jellyfin ? RE: HDR not always initiated - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-13 The log you included looks like a failed tone mapped transcode. Do you have the Intel OpenCL package installed? With regards to HDR10 fallback. I've never seen Jellyfin/exoplayer fallback to HDR10 for my DV content. So I opted to remove the DV layer and go straight HDR10 for all my HDR content. RE: HDR not always initiated - christiaanvdlaken - 2024-06-13 Thanks for the quick reply Ok I already thought of filtering out DV on arr stack so will do that. regarding the OpenCL package, i have proxomox and jellyfin is running on a ubuntu VM I have the gpu passthrough but should is install the OpenCL package on the ubuntu vm then ? not sure if i have it so any way to see if it is installed ? RE: HDR not always initiated - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-13 sudo apt list --installed | grep intel-opencl-icd Is Ubuntu a VM or a LXC? If a VM, I think this needs to be installed in the VM. If a LXC then it needs to be installed on the host. RE: HDR not always initiated - christiaanvdlaken - 2024-06-13 It was not installed but i did now. Will check if it makes it works now RE: HDR not always initiated - TheDreadPirate - 2024-06-13 Try adding Nvidia's repo to your apt config. https://docs.nvidia.com/datacenter/cloud-native/container-toolkit/latest/install-guide.html I vaguely remember someone with a similar issue and they had to install a newer version of the nvidia container toolkit than was available in Ubuntu's 22.04 repo. |
