Donating to Jellyfin? - rekram - 2024-06-14 I'm loving Jellyfin, but wonder how all of this gets developed and supported? Since we're not hit up for subscription or licensing fees, is there a way for us to donate? Honestly, using the software and not paying feels weird and I want to help where and how I can. Thanks **Update** Just saw the "Contribute" link but can't donate cash there. Any thoughts? Also, thanks to DigitalOCean and Jetbrains, but what do they get out of this? RE: Donating to Jellyfin? - Efficient_Good_5784 - 2024-06-14 Jellyfin is built entirely by volunteers with no expectation of any monetary gain. The most you can do is donate to the developers behind the things you like about Jellyfin. See more here: https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-we-re-good-seriously If you're actually serious about "paying" for the service, Jellyfin doesn't accept cash, but your time. You can pay with bug fixes and code contributions. You can also help with things that need translations or helping write documentation for things that still need it. Or you can simply help users on this forum with questions or issues they need help with. Jellyfin is an entirely free and open source project after all. You're free to use it as you please, or contribute back to it. RE: Donating to Jellyfin? - rekram - 2024-06-14 Thank you! Glad to be here and will work on how to add to the community. |
