Android TV app - dow2491 - 2024-07-01
I'm using a synology NAS as my server - whenever I go to watch on my android tv with the jellyfin app, it takes about 60-90 seconds for everything to 'populate', and then even when I play something, the first time it can take a few moments to actually start playing. Does anyone else have this laggy kind of experience with the android tv app? Is it just how it is or have I got something configured wrong?

That's my experience with using a Synology nas and the Android TV app. My server has gotten faster after I upgraded to something with a faster CPU and adding the Jellyfin config data onto an SSD (though I think the SSD makes more of a difference than the CPU).
Keep in mind that movies will take longer to start playing than episodes. And it will also take longer if transcodes are needed.
