Dolby vision reverts to HDR(?) on Google TVs? - JellySins - 2024-07-04

Hi! So I've just started playing around with Jellyfin on a docker in my NAS and I'm seeing somethig weird:
For some reason, when I play a Dolby Vision video on the Google TV Jellyfin app, the TV doesn't recognize that it's dolby vision, even if I'm streaming at the maximum (120) bandwidth rate. The video plays fine, but for whatever reason it's not being picked up as DV

If i play the same episode in the Plex app (software transcoding), the TV automatically switches to Dolby Vision with a little popup in the right corner confirming that it's DV, so I know the TV can support it and that the video file is working properly.

My setup is:
Google Chromecast with Google TV plugged into an LG C3.
Jellyfin running on a UGNAS in Docker
I've got hardware transcoding enabled with QSV, and tone mapping/VPP tone mapping both enabled.
There shouldn't be transcoding happening since the quality is playing at 120Mbps

Any advice appreciated!

Dolby Vision doesn’t work with transcoding. The video must be directly streamed/played for DV to be enabled.
Post your FFmpeg log when a DV file is transcoding, that will help determine the reason.

Initial thoughts:
Transcoding coding is happening due to audio incompatibilities or user settings.
