Issue joining discord. - idiocracy - 2024-07-07
A few days ago, someone managed to crack my password for discord. I'm actually kinda impressed as it was a ~12/15 character string. Anyways, they managed to send out some spam before i got it shut down.
Got booted from the servers i were connected to, which is understandable. But now when i try and join jellyfin, it says that I can't accept the invite, which doesn't make a lot of sense. And not entirely sure it's related.

Very rarely do you get your discord hacked by somebody "cracking" your password, unless your password is garbage and you don't have MFA enabled for your account. What likely happened is that your computer got compromised and they stole your access token, which has multiple fairly trivial methods to do.
What's your discord account name? If you were kicked by us, then your account is banned and we'd need to release it. If it wasn't us and was discord itself, you may be out of luck.

That is what i assumed as well. So i checked with all the regular tools that people normally use to check their pc. And it came back clean. The only thing me, among others can come up with, is that the password was cracked. While saying so, doesn't make it so. But can't find anything else.

I wasn't kicked of all servers, only some. I think i reacted somewhat quickly. I deleted the messages where i could.

Our moderation is typically a bit faster than some other servers. Your account has been unbanned.
