Sharing Playlists between LDAP users - surfrock66 - 2024-07-10 I am having an issue with multiple users in my jellyfin instance being able to see playlists. My instance is version 10.9.7 on Ubuntu Server 22.04.04, and my users are openLDAP users. I am an administrator that can create and modify collections, the other targeted user is not. I have made a playlist for daughter music. She has access to the entire Music library. Inside the music library, there is a "0.Playlists" folder with a bunch of old .m3u playlists, she can see all of these. When I created the jellyfin native "Daughter Music" playlist, I made it public and added files only from the Library she has access to. When I logged in as her, I could not see this playlist. I had researched and found several recommendations that a user has to have at least 1 playlist with content in it to see shared playlists, so under her account I created a playlist with 1 song in it. Now, I can see both playlists, and she can see the one she made, but she cannot still see the one I made: https://www.reddit.com/r/jellyfin/comments/t6khr1/reliable_way_to_share_playlists_with_multiple/ https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-my-playlists-are-visible-accessible-to-other-users I'm stuck; there is nothing in the logs showing me an issue, and the playlist xml files themself are essentially identical (save for song list, duration, genres, etc). Additionally, nothing in the UI that I can find allows me to toggle the public/private aspect of the playlist after it is created, is that expected, or am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks! RE: Sharing Playlists between LDAP users - TheDreadPirate - 2024-07-10 There is currently no mechanism to change the viewability of a playlist after it has been created. If you need to change a public playlist to private, or vice versa, you will need to create a new playlist. You can then copy the playlist elements in the original XML into the new XML. |
