Unable to connect to the selected server - louis1642 - 2024-07-17 Using Windows 10, Jellyfin 10.9.7 installed via Windows installer. After opening Jellyfin by double-clicking on the tray icon, my server shows up in the Select Server page (using Google Chrome), but clicking on the server > connect results me in this error: Quote:We're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again.I looked for solutions online but had no luck, so decided for a fresh install - deleted all files from the installation folder, deleted the registry keys, downloading again the installer, installing Jellyfin (leaving all the default settings). Then the server started and everything seemed to work fine, I even added my first library. When I was adding the second library, the page stopped responding. Now if I try to open the dashboard again, I encounter the same problem. The logs don't seem to offer any insight: in fact, the last entry is about the creation of the first user: Quote:[2024-07-17 13:32:45.680 +02:00] [INF] [10] Emby.Server.Implementations.ApplicationHost: Core startup completeI don't know what else to try. Thank you RE: Unable to connect to the selected server - TheDreadPirate - 2024-07-17 Try clearing the browser cache. I've also tried using incognito mode and using Edge. No results. RE: Unable to connect to the selected server - TheDreadPirate - 2024-07-17 Click on Start > type Resource Monitor > click on the Networks tab > expand the Listening Ports table. Find jellyfin.exe on port 8096. What is in the Firewall Status column? There was no jellyfin.exe in the resource monitor, that made me suspect that the app crashed (despite the icon in the tray was still there). I'll try rebooting the PC later (I'm not home now) and see if it restarts as it should. RE: Unable to connect to the selected server - TheDreadPirate - 2024-07-17 C:\ProgramData\Jellyfin\Server\log. If there is a log for the crashes, it would be there. If there is a log, post it to pastebin. I'll open another thread if I need. Thank you for your help RE: Unable to connect to the selected server - TheDreadPirate - 2024-07-18 It looks like Jellyfin is/was having trouble connecting to the Internet. It can't connect to TMDB to retrieve metadata and I also see issues connecting to the jellyfin repo for plugin updates. But these logs are from yesterday, so I'm not sure if you've resolved that issue already. RE: Unable to connect to the selected server - Stephen Griffiths - 2024-08-18 I can confirm i have the same problem when you choose the server it fails, if you add a server it worked but then each time you have to go back to the beginning, I did a private browser window and works as expected. RE: Unable to connect to the selected server - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-18 What version of Jellyfin are you running? |
