SSD or HDD for Movie files? - Ravn73 - 2023-08-18 Hello. I use my own Work/Gaming PC for my Jellyfin Server. My movies are on a USB HDD. I am going to buy a new PC where there are more slots for HDDs and SDDs. I want to put the Media USB HDD in the system, so thats its not hooked up on USB anymore. My question is, is it better to use SSDs or stay at HDDs? Because of copying, deleting and transcoding. RE: SSD or HDD for Movie files? - TheDreadPirate - 2023-08-18 For normal jellyfin usage, there is no benefit to your media being stored on a SSD. As long as you have the OS, jellyfin database, and transcode directory on a SSD, everything else can be on a HDD. |
