Using Dynamic DNS for remote access - Creepurr - 2024-07-22 I am currently using Tailscale to connect my devices to allow me to stream music from anywhere. But I would like to make it so that I don't have to keep tailscale on at all times to access my music. The issue is that I'm terrible at networking, the only thing I know is how to run a Minecraft server and port forward it so that anyone on the same network can join. However there's a saving grace being that my TPlink router allows me to create a Dynamic DNS so that others can join. I'm wondering if I can apply the same logic as this to allow remote access without the use of Tailscale? (still superb tool tho) RE: Using Dynamic DNS for remote access - TheDreadPirate - 2024-07-22 You have a couple options. Simply port forward port 8096 on your router to your Jellyfin server. Then use your DDNS address to access Jellyfin. But we do recommend using a reverse proxy and setting up https. Caddy is, by far, the simplest reverse proxy and automates the certificate request process. https://jellyfin.org/docs/general/networking/caddy/ |
