No alphabetical index for Songs - SenileOtaku - 2024-07-26 So why is it that under the Music category, Jellyfin can index Albums, Artists, and Album Artists alphabetically, but the Songs list is just one massive unmanagable list? After all, there are going to be many many MORE items under Songs than Albums or Artists, so it's completely unusable without some sort of index. RE: No alphabetical index for Songs - TheDreadPirate - 2024-07-26 Hmmm. If you click on "A-Z" it gives you some options for sorting, but it appears that the file name of the song ultimately decides the ordering within whatever you select from "A-Z". If you're like me, all the file names start with the track number in their album. So it's definitely a mess. Not sure if this is an oversight or by design. Regardless you should submit a bug report to jellyfin-web. I don't see any similar open issues. https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-web/issues RE: No alphabetical index for Songs - Ted Hinklater - 2024-07-26 For now might be easier just to type (for example) "J" in the search box and scroll down to songs section. Not sure if there's a limit on how many are returned though. But yeah an actual A-Z alphapicker should really be there. RE: No alphabetical index for Songs - SenileOtaku - 2024-07-26 There's the problem. For Albums, Artists, and Album Artists there's the index on the right that lets you choose a subset by letter, but for Songs there is no index. And selecting the "AZ" sorting item puts them into some weird order (with a Yardbirds album's tracks showing up first, then assorted other directories, then finally shoes track titles that start with numbers) null null |
