Newb question: LiveTV and DVR functionality - SpuddJelly - 2024-07-26
Hello All,
I just installed Jellyfin docker on my Unraid server. I got my movies / TV show and hardware transcoding done.
I would like to know if I'm able to incorporate Live TV with DVR functionality. My TV sources are either with Spectrum Cable (streaming on browser), and/or IPTV.
If possible, please point me to any guides that may help me to set it up. Thanks!

In Dashboard > Live TV you need to provide either the M3U for your live TV sources. Then in Dashboard > DVR you need to setup the recording directories. One for movies, one for shows. Then you need to provide TV guide data, usually not free. Schedules Direct is one we link to in our official docs.

You CANNOT record live TV without TV guide data.
