Subtitle language priority - Jiří Fiala - 2024-07-28
Language in Subtitles settings should allow multiple choices and priority. Users from smaller countries often don't have subs in their native language available, so they have to use ones in a different language.
For example, I prefer Czech subs but a lot of times these aren't available, so we use English.
As of now, that's not an option. Please provide a way to do this.

If no subtitle source has subs for a specific language, Jellyfin cannot do anything about that.
If you want English to be used as a fallback language when a specific language doesn't exist, make a feature request here for that: https://features.jellyfin.org/
