Jellyfin won't let me sign in using android? - LLStudio - 2024-07-28

It's odd, I can sign in just fine using my computer through the web, but I can't use either web or app to sign in on my android phone. It used to be that I could clear my data and sign back in or reinstall the app and it would let me go for a while longer.

I'm not sure what's different other than the update, but it still won't let me after updating everything. When I sign on through the web, it says I'm still using 10.9.7, though the update brought Jellyfin web, server, and ffmpeg6 to 10.9.8 according to my computer terminal.

Jellyfin 10.9.8 running on Linux 24.04
Galaxy A71 5G with Jellyfin app from google play, firefox web browser

Both connected through Tailscale so I can access without being on the home network.

What all would help y'all help me?

I did some looking and it appears the issue is with tailscale not recognizing my computer somehow. I'm gonna mess with it further and see what's up.

Found the issue. Tailscale had suffered a glitch and wouldn't properly run the service when I ran the command

tailscale up

as root. I had removed the computer from the tailscale network, followed the installation process again, restarted the computer, and brought the service back up. I suspect that it was mostly unnecessary as a common recommendation is to just restart the computer.

TL;DR
I forgot to try turning it off and back on again.
