multiple versions of an episode - Drake97 - 2024-08-01 hello, as the title says, what would be the correct way to have several versions of the same episode of an anime in this case? this function even exists ? I have the Evangelion anime ripped directly from the bluray which has 3 spanish dubs, and I also have a couple of chapters ripped from the DVD wich has 1 spanish dub and some commentarys, and using as an example the 2 versions of chapter 21 (S01E21) how should I add them? I read that there is the merge versions function and I identified how to use it, but in a practical way I don't know how to put the episodes inside my server to allow me to choose which version of the episode to view, it should be something like this ?: S01E21 S01E21v2 ? S01E21-2 ? It is worth mentioning that synchronizing audios and subtitles is not an option since each chapter has different lengths due to the director's comments. I hope you can understand me, thanks in advance. PS: for now I only have the 26 normal chapters, I have not yet passed any alternative version or anything. Regards RE: multiple versions of an episode - Efficient_Good_5784 - 2024-08-01 With the current Jellyfin version, you can only merge movies. TV shows do not yet have the ability to be merged. RE: multiple versions of an episode - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-01 You can have both versions together, if named properly. It just won't be graceful like it is with movies. It will list both episodes. https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-group-series-episode Work was being done to add merged versions for TV shows, but that did not make the cut for 10.9's release. 10.10? But no guarantee. RE: multiple versions of an episode - Drake97 - 2024-08-03 (2024-08-01, 01:22 PM)TheDreadPirate Wrote: You can have both versions together, if named properly. I have 2 soap operas/telenovelas for my mother, one from 2010 and the other from 2024 in which the same actor plays, but it does not combine them and takes them as "2 different actors". RE: multiple versions of an episode - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-03 "People" in jellyfin also have an "Identify" function. I'd assuming adding the same TMDB person ID to both would merge them. I don't have any duplicates (but I don't pay attention to cast/crew) to test this assumption. I consider it important to add this or know if it is 100% compatible. In the world of Anime series there are versions such as Web, BluRay, American Bluray Version, European BluRay, Etc. Many times they encode it differently and the publishers (translaters) make different versions based on a certain BluRay. There are even Web versions with censorship and others without censorship depending on the channel that broadcast it. By the way... what theme to use? (I speak Spanish) RE: multiple versions of an episode - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-05 Follow the directions in this post to merge versions of an episode. It is not automatic. There is some manual work you have to do. https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-group-series-episode |
