ISP - rustyWallace94 - 2024-08-05 Hey all, can my isp provider see my activity, videos i stream locally. I live in Germany and use a fritzbox from my provider. I dont plan on accessing my data outside of my local network. To be safe i thought of connecting my spare router to the ISP router and just connect jellyfin to my spare router but that sounds like its pretty much the same issue of my ISP's router of having access to my data. thanks RE: ISP - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-05 Your ISP does not have "access" to your data. Especially not on your local network. A) That's illegal B) That is not technically feasible At most they can see your DNS requests when accessing things on the Internet if you use their DNS. But that can be mitigated by either using DoT (DNS over TLS) if your ISP supports it and/or using a 3rd party DNS like Google DNS or Cloudflare. |
