DLNA to Philips TV - Atreja - 2024-08-08 Hi, I have a problem with playback via DLNA from Jalleyfin to my Philips TV. I have read that there are often problems with Philips devices. The Philips software doesn't seem to be good. Here is some information first. 1. Jellyfin 10.9.9 2. DLNA 2.0.0.0 3. Jellyfin Docker in Unraid 4. Philips TV 50PUS6754/12 (No Android TV) What happens: I find the Jellyfin DLNA server on TV and get the media libraries displayed. However, there are no subfolders or files to be seen there. When I start a movie in the Android app on my smartphone by "Play on", the TV switches and shows a black screen. I can change the volume of the TV via the smartphone, but neither audio nor video is played there. So far I have used a miniDLNA Docker, which worked without any problems. Jellyfin DLNA also goes from server to VLC (other PC) My guess: The connection of Jellyfin to the TV works, but Jellyfin does not find a suitable DLNA profile and uses the default profile (it is also in the log) I tried to use a different profile by adjusting the identifier in the.xml. Jellyfin also uses it, but it doesn't work with it either. I could now wildly try out profiles, hoping that one will work at some point, which seems unlikely to me. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the structure and all the variables in the profiles and I don't know what dlna functions my TV supports. Does anyone have a profile for Philips TV, or does he know something about it? Or do I have a completely different problem here? greetings Atreja RE: DLNA to Philips TV - Atreja - 2024-08-12 Hi again, I just noticed that I get mp3 files displayed on the TV and can play them. I have tried almost all DLNA profiles in the meantime, but none of them show video files. Furthermore, I tried to copy the dlna profile from Mezzmo media Server and adapt it for Jelklyfin, but without success. RE: DLNA to Philips TV - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-12 Do you allow transcoding? RE: DLNA to Philips TV - Atreja - 2024-08-12 Hi thanks for the answer. I haven't changed anything in the transcoding settings and the Transcode folder is empty. Is transcoding necessary if the TV can play the video and audio formats natively? The MiniDLNA, which I have used so far, generally do not transcode. mfg Atreja RE: DLNA to Philips TV - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-12 If whatever DLNA device profile you're using says it needs to be transcoded it will transcode. Regardless if the device could have direct played the file. So the profile needs to be correct. I have never used DLNA so I not super familiar with how it works in Jellyfin. RE: DLNA to Philips TV - Atreja - 2024-08-13 Hi, okay, I understand. But Jellyfin should still show the videos, even if there are no transcoding guidelines for it, right? For test purposes, I created a library of the type books and stored videos there. These are shown on the TV, but cannot be played. I just don't understand what the problem could be, since other DLNA servers work without any problems. RE: DLNA to Philips TV - Atreja - 2024-08-14 So, I've tested a bit more and I'm not getting anywhere. I can see directories with mp3 files and can play them, but I can't see any videos in my libraries, except in the collections. All the videos available are shown there. But I can't play them and I get a "loading screen" for a few minutes and then the TV jumps back to the DLNA overview. I've tried to activate logging for DLNA, but I can't see anything in the log file when I connect to the TV. Does anyone have any other ideas? |
