JellyFin Media Player - simard57 - 2024-08-16

when I start the Jellyfin Media Player on my new Windows 11 Surface Pro 9 - it is partially offscreen to the left and I cannot move it. Is there a setting I need to have it display properly?
I am a Plex user that is relatively new to Jellyfin and I want to evaluate it for my setup.

Hold shift and right click the Jellyfin Media Player icon in the taskbar, click Move. Don't click on anything and use the arrows on your keyboard to move the window.

That's a nice little trick. It was a little tricky to pull off for some reason. What I usually do is with the app selected press the windows/start key on the keyboard and and an arrow direction key. Each arrow key will snap the window in a different direction. Also, with the window selected, you can zoom in and out by holding the Control key and scrolling the mouse wheel up or down.

Another way to move anything on Windows is to use the Windows key + the arrow keys.
Edit: Just saw @theguymadmax's reply before mine. Didn't realize he commented the same thing lol. I'll leave the rest here anyway.

So make sure whatever window you need to move is the currently selected one, then:
  • "win + up_key" to snap the window to full screen
  • "win + left_key" to snap to the left
  • "win + right_key" to snap to the right
  • "win + down_key" to hide the window

If you have multiple monitors, you can use "win + shift + left_key" or "win + shift + right_key" to switch the window between the monitors.

I don't know if this is how it works on Windows 11, but on Windows 10, you need to use "ctrl + mouse wheel" to zoom in and out.

Isn't that what I wrote? It's what I was trying to convey. And if that combo doesn't work, then it's the control key and the plus/minus keys.
