Photo library scan - kats - 2024-08-19 Hi, Server: jellyfin-jellyfin1 Version: 10.8.10 Operating System: Linux Architecture: X64 Device: Synology NAS Installation: docker All library definitions as type Photos. Recently i was notified by someone that some of the files (not all of the files) that they have uploaded in the past are not showing up when they access the library via the web portal. inside the Library "Compphotos" is a folder "Logos" with a subfolderr "Personal1". structure: compphotos \ logos \ personal1 Both of these folders have jpg and png files inside of them that show up through Synology File Station just fine. when viewing thru the jellyfin web portal, Logos and Personal1 both show up as selectable but nothing inside. other folders/subfolders/files within library compphotos seem to be working. the manage library option "enable real time monitoring" is checked on. Tried the following without success -- - both a daily scan that was in place and now a 2 hour interval scan for several days - a manual scan trying all three options: scan for new and updated files / search for missing metadata / replace all metadata - a restart of the jellyfin system followed by a scan - synology nas restart - browsers firefox, chrome, and edge under windows 10 pro; cleared cache, etc. i copied a file (sample1.tif) to the folder Logos that is having problems. after manually starting a scan for new and updated files, the log shows the following: [ERR] [73] Jellyfin.Drawing.Skia.SkiaEncoder: Unable to determine image dimensions for file-name-sample1-that-was-copied: InvalidInput i'm seeing this ERR with other TIF files that are scattered in this library. side question --- does Jellyfin not support TIF files and if not what is the workaround. all the tif files are not viewable. when i go to the web portal to view this library/subfolder Logos, the tif file definition shows up. Of course the TIF file is not viewing when clicked on. I did the same thing just outlined with a jpg file and that showed up and was viewable. i then emptied this folder Logos out except for the TIF and JPG files that i copied and ran a scan for new and updated files. nothing of course except my TIF and JPG files showed up. the subfolder Personal1 was gone also from the web portal interface. The original contents were copied back into the Logos folder including the Personal1 subfolder. ran a scan for new and updated files. Personal1 folder name showed up. Nothing that was copied back into Logos or subfolder Personal1 showed up. i've checked the permissions on the folder names Logos and Personal, and the file names in each of these folders. they are being inherited from the Library name Compphotos so the cascaded inheritance permissions is working correctly. the folder/subfolder/files were copied to the local windows drive and open fine with photo viewer. the problem is that there are many files in this library and other libraries that this user has uploaded in the last 6 months. not sure if it is user specific or if other users have created this issue. there are about 25 users defined with different library accesses depending on job responsibilities. this particular library Compphotos is part of a bigger library "Company" which has been defined as photos. from the bigger library "Company" these entries do not show up. a folder compphotos/logos1 was created. all of the content of the original logos was copied to this logos1. without running a scan, the logos1 folder showed up in the library along with the subfolder Personal1 and the sample non-viewable TIF file and the viewable JPG file. all of the original png and jpg files are not viewable. Not sure what to do next to trouble-shoot or for a resolve. given that the files open in photoviewer, i can't figure out why jellyfin does not like them. no special characters are used in the file names: alpha lower/upper case, numbers, spaces, and underscores. i'm still fumbling my way thru Jellyfin. Details for any recommendations would be appreciated. sorry for the length of the thread. thank you for the assistance. Regards, Ron RE: Photo library scan - theguymadmax - 2024-08-20 Jellyfin ignores certain keywords when managing photos, such as folder, thumb, landscape, fanart, backdrop, poster, cover, logo, and default. In version 10.8.z, there is a bug that causes Jellyfin to ignore files containing a match in any part of the word with these keywords. This issue was resolved in version 10.9. To address the problem, either update to the latest version or rename any files/folders to exclude these terms. |
