Issue with season seperation - weeman - 2024-08-21

I'm having trouble getting a show to be separated by seasons. I believe the file structure and naming is set up correctly, and in the metadata, each episode shows the correct season numbers. However, everything is still grouped into a single season. I attached a screenshot of one episodes metadata, showing that it is season 2, and despite that is categorized with everything else in season 1.

Can you provide example file paths? Preferably the full path.

Also, what show is it and what metadata source are you using? Depending on the show there are multiple orderings available from online DBs.

What server version are you running?

Here is an example path:

"D:\Shows\ATHF\Aqua Teen Hunger Force S01-S011 1080p HMAX WEBRip DD 2 0 x265-EDGE2020\Aqua.Teen.Hunger.Force.S02.1080p.HMAX.WEBRip.DD.2.0.x265-EDGE2020\Aqua.Teen.Hunger.Force.S02E01.Super.Birthday.Snake.1080p.HMAX.WEBRip.DD.2.0.H.265.-EDGE2020.mkv"

As for the metadata source, I'm not sure. I never manually configured that and I'm not sure how.

10.8.12

Edit: Just updated it to 10.9.9, but it didn't seem to affect anything.

If you've never changed the metadata source, it is probably TMDB.

And that folder structure is not supported. Too many levels. I'm assuming your library is pointed at "Shows".

Shows > Aqua Teen Hunger Force > Season 01 > "Aqua Teen Hunger Force - s01e01 - Episode Title.mkv"

Shows > Aqua Teen Hunger Force > Season 01 > "Aqua Teen Hunger Force - s01e01 - Episode Title.mkv"

Ok, I'll try to revise the file structure to match that and see if it helps.

EDIT: Ok, just moving it up one folder seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks a lot.

I was about to suggest updating to at least version 10.8.13, as it addresses some security vulnerabilities.  As TheDreadPirate said, it looks like it's a folder structure issue—you're probably hitting the Windows file path limit with some of your files.
