Best GPU for power consumption with good Transcoding ? - enzomtp - 2023-08-22 Hi Jellyfin's Users ! I have an ""old"" PC that i used to game on (and mine cryptos) with RTX 2060, i need to reduce the power consumption bc the pc in general draws too much power and the bills are getting high, am doing everithing that i can. I can't just not use any GPU bc my family and friend don't watch their movies in 4k (instead of me) and i want to use my CPU power for things like MC-servers. so if you have any advices for a good GPU i'll take it ! Thank you in advance ! Your cordialities -enzomtp RE: Best GPU for power consumption with good Transcoding ? - Venson - 2023-08-22 Hey @enzomtp Thats a very complex question and you might get "the" answer to that. Maybe start with a few infos: - How many users/streams do you expect to be transcoding at a given time? - Does your CPU maybe have an integrated GPU you could use instead? - I really dont understand what you said about 4K, are you transcoding 4K movies? For my setup i use a RTX A2000 (12GB), its a low power (70W), low profile and very silent GPU i can wholly recommend for 4K transcodes up to around 7-8 streams with plenty of headroom. RE: Best GPU for power consumption with good Transcoding ? - enzomtp - 2023-08-22 Hello ! Thanks for the fast response ! For the users at a given time i can expect 3 to 4 people at the same time. I have an Intel Core I5-9600KF so no Integrated GPU. What i was saying is that the base movies are in 4k and most of my users watch in 1080p bc of their internet or just don't have the appropriate Monitor RE: Best GPU for power consumption with good Transcoding ? - TheDreadPirate - 2023-08-22 An Intel Arc A380 has a pretty low TDP as well (75w). And gives you AV1 decoding and encoding support. |
