Emby server with JFMP ? - metropical - 2024-08-25 Is there a way to configure so that JFMP uses the Emby server as its source? JFMP seems to be more stable for music playback. But the Emby server does a better job of finding new media, at least where music is concerned. RE: Emby server with JFMP ? - Fate - 2024-08-25 I don't think its possible. Emby and Jellyfins codebase diverged quite a lot. Since JFMP relies on Jellyfin-web as a source for the Interface I don't think think it will work. If you are on Mac you can try https://firecore.com/infuse, this is a thid party player that also is compatible with emby.(and jellyfin!) At this point, the code for Jellyfin is most likely massively different to what Emby is now. There's no way you can mix the two anymore. And @Fate does bring the other important point with this topic. JMP has been updated some versions back to not package its own GUI anymore, but to pull the web UI from the Jellyfin server that you install. There's no way to use anything made for Jellyfin with Emby at this point without asking Emby to make their code public again (not happening). And even then, there will need to be massive amounts of work to rework the code to work with Emby again (another thing that will never happen). RE: Emby server with JFMP ? - metropical - 2024-08-28 guess I'll stick with JF for music, since the JFMP hasless transcode, stalling, and shuffle issues than the Emby Server web interface. Just wish the "recently added in Music" would show my recent adds. The metadata folders have it all, but as yet, I've yet to hear any of the newer stuff come off of shuffle, let alone be found in Search. |
