What video format works best with Jellyfin? - three_jeeps - 2024-08-27 I have 20+ DVD that contain video that was made by transcribing/converting a number of VHS and SVHS tapes. I want to put them on a SSD for use with Jellyfin. What is the best format to use?e.g. just copy the dvd contents directly? convert them to mp4? etc. When I say 'best' I mean one that has the least loss and also that Jellyfin plays nice with. What ripping program is recommended? Also what is a recommended data structure for the DVDs? e.g. a directory for each DVD? A directory that contains a number of dvds arranged by topic? etc. Thanks J RE: What video format works best with Jellyfin? - TheDreadPirate - 2024-08-27 Read this guide for ripping the DVDs. https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-from-disc-to-drive-a-beginner-s-guide-to-preparing-your-media-for-jellyfin Our documentation for how to organize your media.
