Direct stream cpu power needed - macnteej - 2023-08-23
I’m running a server on an old 2012 MacBook Pro. I am wanting to share my server with family and typically keep a 4K/1080p copy of movies, and 720p tv shows. Is the 4 core 2.5 i5 in it enough to handle multiple direct streams of content?
Edit: it’s a dual core not a quad core

Direct streaming uses very little resources. You will be IO/disk/network limited before you are CPU limited.
