Android app can't connect to the server - volantredx - 2024-09-02

Hey I'm new to this program and suddenly have had issues with my Jellyfin app on my Android phone. I have Jellyfin set up in a docker container on a NAS and when I try to connect remotely using my phone's app it says it cannot connect to the server. I can connect on my window's desktop using the web client and can connect on my Google TV. It is only the app that seems to have issues. I'm not sure what to do to fix that.

Can you share your full jellyfin logs via pastebin.

I have no idea how to do that.

You can find your server's logs in the dashboard.
Dashboard > Logs

There, if you're on a browser, you just click on one of the logs to open it in a separate tab.
Make sure to open the server logs and not the ffmpeg logs (ffmpeg logs are named as such).

You just copy the entire log file (it will usually be a lot of text) and paste it on a text paste sharing site like https://pastebin.com/

Then simply just share the pastebin link here.

I've solved part of the issue. If I'm my home's wifi I can log in like normal, but if I'm using my data or a different wifi it doesn't work. I'm not sure what to do to fix that since the biggest reason I want it on my phone is to watch outside the house.

Finally figured out the issue. I had to set up a tailscale network proxy. If anyone is using Docker Jails in True Nas for their Jellyfin you'll have to set up through Dockge and set it up that way.
