New Media Source Won't Scan - KodiUser1138 - 2024-09-03

Had to rejig some of my movies library and created a new network location for several items. Added this new location which is fully shared and accessible on my LAN as all my other network locations are and JF just refuses to scan it. I'm not sure what else to try, I've added it, removed it, scanned both times, restarted the server, restarted the PC, reverted to an older back-up of the library and added the new network location there and nothing will get JF to scan it. And because you can't set JF to scan a specific location within a library I have no other controls others than to just keep clicking rescan library. There are only 44 items total in this new location, all with local artwork and metadata so all JF needs to do is scan the pre-existing information but thus far... notta. I am stumped.

Can you initiate a scan then share your jellyfin log via pastebin?

I'm assuming you mounted the network share to your OS. Which protocol is it using? NFS or CIFS?

's a Windows network shared folder with 4 sub folders by letter which then contain the curated movies in their own folders. It's the same setup and type of share I have 4 others of on this PC and similar across the machines I have on my network until I can build 1 contained media vault. It's seen on the network and fully accessible from Kodi via the network path. I'm using JF 10.9.3 for other reason previously mentioned elsewhere but I don't recall having any issue with this version previously when trying to add a new path to a library. But everything just continues to fail. I've even renamed the network folder and tried that but still nothing. I will see about posting a log later as I'm pressed for time at the moment.

I should ask what might I be looking for in the log? I can access it through my phone but can't upload it right now.

Is each subfolder by letter added to the library, or is the overarching folder added to the library?

The overarching networked shared folder it added to the library, like all the others that work. When added to JF it then shows the nested sub folders by letter, just like previous times. However when adding this time, unlike in prior JF versions, there was no lower box to re-enter the network address which I'm guessing is setting the network location in some manner and that isn't being accomplished now?

I tried to post the log to pastebin but it says it's too large so which section would we be looking for information in?

Paste the whole thing into a text file, then zip it up and share here.

Hopefully that works.

Also looking through there appears to be an error with Borat? Perhaps something to do with the file name? It appears fine in my library but would be good to know the fix for any errors that are simple to resolve.

What is the name of the new network path?

\\MediaServer\Movies 1?
