Optimal drive for Jellyfin - cromnom - 2024-09-15 I am rebuilding my media server with parts from my old gaming/work PC. My motherboard has one PCIE 3.0 NVME port which I purchased a new NVME card for. The other spare drives I have are all SATA SSDs, aside from the HDDs I use for my library. My Question is where should I put Jellyfin and my OS (windows 11) for optimal performance? OS on SSD and JF on NVME? Or the reverse? Or Maybe I should have both on the NVME? Specs of my system :- Mobo - X99-A II CPU - i7 5820k GPU - GTX1070 RAM - 64Gb Appreciate any advice. RE: Optimal drive for Jellyfin - toytown - 2024-09-15 Both the OS/JF should be on the NVMe it will have superior transfer rates and IOPS compared to the SSD. I would keep your library on the HDDs as you mentioned. |
