Using Caddy with Base URL Redirection Breaks Android App - WoodroweBones - 2024-09-16 Hey everyone, I went down a real rabbit hole with this one! I've been playing around with Jellyfin to possibly replace Plex. I am running Jellyfin on a Windows PC and I use Caddy on that PC for reverse proxy and certificates. I was running into an issue where I could go to jellyfin.myurl.com from browsers without issue. However in the Android app on the same devices it would always fail. After reading MANY search results about how its probably the certificate I ended up finding out the cert was not the issue. The issue is the redirection. I had jellyfin.myurl.com redirecting to jellyfin.myurl.com/jellyfin simply so I could distinguish between a few different services (i.e. Sonarr, etc.). Turns out browsers do this without issue but the Android App does not. So for right now its not a huge issue for me to only use jellyfin.myurl.com without the /jellyfin since its the only one with that type of access. Just curious if there is a way to make it work at all? As soon as I remove the redirection its all good and if I add the base URL into the android app it also works. Not a huge issue by any means but I'm curious if this is a limitation of the app/security feature or if there is a way to make it happen RE: Using Caddy with Base URL Redirection Breaks Android App - TheDreadPirate - 2024-09-17 If you are setting a subpath for Jellyfin via redirection, you will also need to go to Dashboard > Networking and set a base URL. |
