Help picking a new Mini PC - troothdotcom - 2024-09-23

I am currently using a 10 year old laptop as my Jellyfin server and it works for the most part that is until anyone with a Roku tries to watch anything remotely and that seems to be a lot recently. I already asked on Reddit what type of mini PC would work for this but I get very vague answers. I obviously don't want to break the bank but I would like something strong enough to be able to transcode to at least 2 Rokus at a time. If said Mini PC can be found Amazon even better I want to have it delivered asap! Thanks in advance.

IMO, this is probably the best deal for this use case. Already comes with 16GB of RAM and a 500GB SSD (M.2 form factor, but SATA). Add your storage over the network or with USB drives/enclosures.

I've recently got one of these. Fanless and it works brilliantly with Jellyfin.
