Preferred download language "Chinese; Bilingual" - Finn - 2024-09-25 What does this mean? RE: Preferred download language "Chinese; Bilingual" - Finn - 2024-09-28 Can anyone explain precisely how this setting works? RE: Preferred download language "Chinese; Bilingual" - TheDreadPirate - 2024-09-28 When Jellyfin goes out to retrieve metadata it uses a different language code. https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin/blob/992d56e5654ed14244ee774da0ebaabdf712a566/Emby.Server.Implementations/Localization/iso6392.txt#L80 Code: chi|zho|zh|Chinese|chinois The metadata providers will return different metadata, if it is available with that language code. RE: Preferred download language "Chinese; Bilingual" - Finn - 2024-09-30 Thanks for replying, I appreciate it. Could you explain what the setting "Chinese; Bilingual" does? "Chinese", "Chinese; Traditional" and "Chinese; Hongkong" are self-explanatory but "Chinese; Bilingual" is not. RE: Preferred download language "Chinese; Bilingual" - TheDreadPirate - 2024-09-30 On the Jellyfin side of things, all it does is use a different language code when requesting metadata from TMDB, TVDB, etc. The result depends on how each metadata provider responds. The 3rd field is the language code used when generating requests for metadata from online sources. "ze" for bilingual instead of "zh". Code: zh Chinese I am not Chinese nor do I speak Chinese so I can't provide specific examples of how the results are different. |
