Can't connect to my server - GriffyS - 2024-09-26 I suddenly can't connect via browser over LAN. My ROKU devices can. I have the Jellyfin server on MX linux and the firewall is open. RE: Can't connect to my server - TheDreadPirate - 2024-09-26 Define "can't connect". Nothing shows up at all? Or the Jellyfin UI appears and you have to "select a server" but can't connect when you select the only available server? RE: Can't connect to my server - GriffyS - 2024-09-26 It says "unable to connect" in my browser window, and the Jellyfin media player on my laptop says something similar. I used to be able to, but now I suddenly can't. RE: Can't connect to my server - TheDreadPirate - 2024-09-26 Can you describe your setup? What OS, what Jellyfin version, what browser, are you using a reverse proxy? And can you share your jellyfin logs via pastebin? RE: Can't connect to my server - GriffyS - 2024-09-26 I'm on Jellyfin 10.8.13 because it's the flatpak repo on my distro has, but I could always connect through my browser before so I don't think it's a version issue. I'll post some logs when I go down and get on the server. RE: Can't connect to my server - TheDreadPirate - 2024-09-26 Double check the IP you are using in your browser. Your Roku may be using service discovery to find and connect to Jellyfin. But the server flatpak is not an official package. It is community supported. That is also why it hasn't been updated months. We're on version 10.9.11. Additionally, flatpaks aren't meant to run servers. Also, since MX Linux is debian based, you can just install the deb packages from our repo. We have a script to automate installaion. Code: curl https://repo.jellyfin.org/install-debuntu.sh | sudo bash But you'd have to start over since it is difficult to make all the database modifications to migrate your existing data. RE: Can't connect to my server - GriffyS - 2024-09-26 It doesn't work with MX because it lacks a full systemd. It throws an error. I'll just use the flatpak for now. Thanks! RE: Can't connect to my server - TheDreadPirate - 2024-09-26 Is Docker not an option? Not sure if Docker has a version that doesn't rely on systemd. RE: Can't connect to my server - GriffyS - 2024-09-26 It's an option, I just don't have time to set it up now. RE: Can't connect to my server - GriffyS - 2024-09-29 I enabled systemd via MX's boot options and now am running the current version. The server isn't installed in a flatpak. The curl script you provided will work as long as systemd is running. Thanks! I'm sure I'll eventually get into docker, but I have Jellyfin running for now. Thanks for the advice. |
