Metadata question - Finn - 2024-09-26 What determines the text in the "Video", "Audio" and "Subtitles" fields when you go to a movie page (example attached)? I would like to be able to change the text in those fields without changing the movie file itself. Is that possible? RE: Metadata question - TheDreadPirate - 2024-09-26 When you add content, ffprobe reads the file and parses the metadata tags. If you want to change anything you'd need to use ffmpeg to update the tags. Or some other app that lets you update the tags in the file. RE: Metadata question - Finn - 2024-09-26 Thanks for replying! Is there a way to see these tags in MediaInfo? Are the no metadata plugins that can store metadata separate from the movie file, which would allow changing the tags without touching the movie file? RE: Metadata question - Efficient_Good_5784 - 2024-09-26 Those tags are saved directly inside the file itself and not in the NFO metadata. If you want something with a GUI to edit them, check out MKVToolNix. You can remux to get an MKV file. It also allows you to edit each file stream's title tag. |
