Updating to the latest Jellyfin version on Synology - Daskyrider - 2024-10-07

Hi

I am a tech noob here, so please bear with me. I'm running jellyfish app on my Synology DS220+ on DSM7.

My TV TCL keeps giving the information to update to from 10.9.7 to 10.9.11 but I have no idea how to do that on my Synology ..the packet is still 10.9.7..how do I update that?

If you're using the SynoCommunity Jellyfin app, you need to update to a DSM version that they support to continue.

I would recommend that you switch over to the official Docker image provided by Jellyfin. If you want to keep your data from the current server, you'll need to figure out how to access and copy over your Jellyfin's server current config folder to a location accessible by the new container.

As for deploying the official image on your Synology NAS, you can check my guide here: https://forum.jellyfin.org/t-guide-running-jellyfin-in-synology-s-dsm-7-using-docker-compose
