Installed Jellyfin using repository from SynoCommunity. - LSpectra - 2024-10-07 I have not seen the following question answered and it would be helpful to know. I have the DS920+ which has hardware transcoding. I was going to setup Jellyfin through a Docker container (or similar method described in How to Install Jellyfin With Hardware Transcoding on Your Synology NAS – Marius Hosting ) which didn't work on my first attempt. Didn't try this method again. I am a simple user. I followed the guidance given by "NAS Compares" which worked straight away. The latter installs Jellyfin through a repository from SynoCommunity. Am I correct, I need to make no further changes in the Synology NAS (for example add lines of code or whatever) and I simply just enable transcoding (check/uncheck various settings under this section) to get hardware transcoding to work? Thank you. RE: Installed Jellyfin using repository from SynoCommunity. - TheDreadPirate - 2024-10-08 You have to make sure that you pass in the GPU into the "app". Then configure the codec support for your CPU. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Quick_Sync_Video#Hardware_decoding_and_encoding |
