FireTV Adult and Kid profiles - chris - 2023-08-31 Coming from Plex, I really like Jellyfin so far, but I am a little confused about how profiles with different content are supposed to be handled on FireTV. How do people with young children ensure that the kids dont watch an R-rated movie? I have my content separated and locked down by account, but on the FireTV the profiles for Jellyfin seem to be changeable at anytime, so when an adult is signed in, the kids can just switch to the adult profile without authentication. What I would like to do is allow kids to watch any kid movies/shows, but require a PIN or something to play regular movies. It seems like the "require password everytime" option is the way to go, but it is applied to the entire app, which means that the kids would also have to login each time. Is there something I am missing? Thanks! RE: FireTV Adult and Kid profiles - bitmap - 2023-08-31 Does FireTV allow for the in-network PIN option? That's how I'd handle it. Inside of your home network (or what you set as the "home" network in your Dashboard), you can utilize a PIN to login. Also, careful with searches (don't think that's fixed yet). I figured out the hard way... RE: FireTV Adult and Kid profiles - thornbill - 2023-08-31 You can disable the automatic login option in the Android TV app so you are prompted to login when switching users. The option is in the app settings for authentication. |
