owners of files random since upgrade - preventing playback unless chown'd - ondafly - 2023-08-31

Hi - hope someone can advise. I am running Jellyfin on proxmox - it has a view of a shared drive also in use by Sonaar/Radaar. When they save a file there - Jellyfin has realtime monitoring of same drive and updates itself with the new content.

All was working fine until I updated Jellyfin to 10.8.10 - and now when you view the drives from the CLI on Jellyfin - the ownership of the files is random - examples "systemd-timesync" is now an owner, and I've seen tcpdump also.

-rw-rw----  1 systemd-timesync uuidd 1399099540 Aug 31 'FILENAME'

whereas prior to the upgrade it would have read (ignore time and date on this example please)

-rw-rw----  1 jellyfin uuidd 1980225487 Aug 30 20:36 'FILENAME'

so now I have to chown each time to enable playback.

Any suggestions ? My backup is corrupted Slightly-frowning-face so unable to revert.

If these are new files having issues, I would say it's an issue with whoever is putting the files in the location. And if that is the case, this wouldn't be the forum to get help with that as it wouldn't be jellyfin related (and most likely against the rules of the forum, since it's media acquisition talk)

ok Cloud9 - appreciate the response. I will look elsewhere for a solution.
