New to Trickplay - paulc - 2024-10-30 I'm new to using Trickplay. If I have /library/comedy/thismovie and want to move it to /library/romcom/thismovie, will it retain the Trickplay that has already been processed, as stored in its default location, or will it processĀ a new Trickplay? Also, pros and cons of moving Trickplays to movie folder... RE: New to Trickplay - TheDreadPirate - 2024-10-30 If you are storing trickplays centrally in Jellyfin's data directory, I believe it should keep the existing trick plays if you move the movie to another folder. Pros of having trickplays with your movies: -Portability -Guaranteed to only need to generate them once -If you have a small SSD for Jellyfin's data, having it with your media ensures that trickplays don't fill up your limited disk space Cons: -Most likely your media is on a HDD and Jellyfin probably runs off a SSD. Depending on disk speed and what other services you have running, this can result in less responsiveness. May or may not be noticeable. -Clutters your media directories, if you are OCD about that kind of thing. I'm conflicted about moving them into the folders, but it would be nice not to have to recreate them. |
