I’d also like to have song lyrics available in Jellyfin or Finamp. Do I understand correctly that I first need to install the plugin “LrcLib” and then activate the option “Save lyrics in media folders” in the music library?
Do I need to perform a library scan afterward? If so, which one—complete (replace) or only changes?

Just installing the plugin should be sufficient. Saving them to the media folders is optional (by default it is stored in the jellyfin data folder).
Once one (or multiple) lyric plugins are installed you'll need to run the scheduled task to find lyrics, then scan the library so they become available. These two steps also run automatically but run them manually if you want the lyrics asap

We currently offer one official plugin for Lyrics, that is the LrcLib one. There might be other third-party plugins but I'm not aware of any.
