Jellyfin Netflix skin - The Mike - 2024-10-31 Hi I am fairly new to Jellyfin, and though I like it I have found alot of things I am missing. Chose Jellyfin because it was free as my first option, but I am a little sad about how Jellyfin looks. It is really barebone. I want to categories my movies and shows like on Netflix, but I just cant seem to get it to work on Jellyfin. I want my Jellyfin to look like this, but I fear that it is not possible? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QHo_-mq9f4Y When I make a list of movies, when I just click under my movie section, it just shows everything. I have to manually pick genres first to sort it like that. Same with tv series, theres a lot of extra steps I have to do. I am mainly watching from an android tv, so it also has to support that Example 1: My basic Jellyfin looks like this: https://i.ibb.co/rQzmYQv/jellyfin.jpg No categories like "Christmas series", "Comedy", "Action" etc. Just plain look of images. I want something like this: https://hard-drive.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/netflix-titles.jpg-1.webp and : https://www.alphr.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/netflix_browse_menu.jpg But it just seems like Jellyfin are forced to be simplistic. They only change how the pages look. It still doesn't show like "comedy", "action" etc. it just shows everything RE: Jellyfin Netflix skin - LambTalk - 2024-11-01 There's a bit of a difference in target audience for Netflix and Jellyfin. Netflix's interface is designed around discovering new content. Jellyfin on the otherhand is related to orgsnising your existing media. As you've already discovered, you can select genres in Jellyfin, but if you want a Netflix-like interface, you can use one of the Jellyfin plugins for Kodi, and then use your Kodi skin of choice to achieve your desired look. RE: Jellyfin Netflix skin - DemonWarrior - 2024-11-04 I have way more and better docs for themes just as an fyi if someone else comes upon this. This has every theme currently running for jellyfin. https://docs.demonwarriortech.com/Jellyfin%20Extras/Jellyfin-Themes-&-Extras (2024-11-01, 12:48 AM)TheDreadPirate Wrote: Check out this git link for a theme mega list. I disagree, there is a strong overlap in target audience. I have a large library that I am sharing with friends and family. A netflix like UI would is great for discovery. Moreover it is excellent at categorizing and grouping types of content together. If it is Christmas time I want all of my Christmas movies to be grouped together. I do not want to have to make new collections. RE: Jellyfin Netflix skin - nanouk76 - 2025-03-09 Have a look at this : https://github.com/MakD/Jellyfin-Media-Bar. It can makes random suggestions based on all your contents or use a custom list to suggest from. It does need a little modding of some files. Or you could use something that is no longer updated but which I use : https://github.com/tedhinklater/Jellyfin-Featured-Content-Bar. Happy reading/modding. |
