Episodes showing multiple times in different seasons - elfhiem - 2023-09-03
ive been trying to add batman the animated series to my jellyfin library, and ive been manually editing the metadata in order to change the order of what episodes are in and in what seasons certain episodes are in (as when ive tried to do it automatically it refuses to work) by changing the season + episode number and locking the episode. this usually works fine except for some of the episodes which were originally in season 2 that ive edited to be in season 1. those episodes are displaying in season 1 correctly, however they are also appearing in season 2 with the exact same metadata as the episodes in season 1.
any ideas whats causing this? or how i could fix it?

Is metadata the only thing you're changing? Are they still organized in the file system the same way? That may be part of the issue.
The only other thing I can say is that when you edit the metadata, you likely need to clear out just about everything, as some fields will override any changes you make (e.g., I know IMDb ID can sometimes be problematic when trying to shift a series from a wrong series identification).
